Celebrated local female DJ and Event MC, Makeda Mahadeo tied the knot in a colourful wedding ceremony at the Inzozi Beach Hotel in Gisenyi, yesterday.

Makeda said "I do” to her hubby Sacha Haguma at 3pm in a religious ceremony officiated by Pastor Emmanuel Karegyesa of the Anglican Church of Rwanda.

The religious wedding came a week after the couple made their vows at a civil marriage ceremony in Kinyinya sector, on November 24.

Like the civil marriage, the religious wedding was attended by only the couple’s close family and friends.

After the wedding, guests were treated to a wedding reception at the hotel, and danced till late.

Makeda first made her name on the local showbiz and entertainment circuit as a club DJ in 2010, at a time when the industry was dominated by men. She became even more popular when she later took up a stint at Contact FM as a radio jockey.

Today, she is also one of the most sought after event MCs in the country.
