Growing up I was always taught the importance of giving, and it’s during the festive season that giving should be priotised since it’s a sign of love. Personally I believe giving is an act of good faith which shows love to those around you. Besides, the Bible teaches us to give.

I look at giving in terms of showing love to those who are not privileged to have loved ones around them, for instance orphans, and also those with no resources like the needy. By sharing with them what we have, it builds a sense of love, affection and belonging to those around them.

The festive season is a good time to share and celebrate with your loved ones and this makes it a good moment to give. Giving can be in terms of gifts, loving and sharing activities. To children, this is a good time to go beyond our families to give those in need.
