Kepler basketball club registered their very first win in the Rwanda Basketball League after beating Kigali Titans 60-44 on Sunday.

Mandy Juruni’s team showed a high level of determination in Sunday’s game, taking the first quarter 22-12 but Kigali Titans bounced back to claim the second quarter 17-16 but it didn’t change much on the home side which was leading 38-29 at the break.

In the second half, Kepler showed no intent of slowing down by dominating the third quarter 14-5, hence taking firm control of the game heading into the final quarter.

Kigali Titans came into the fourth quarterly looking very organized defensively and very quick going forward and their tactical change was instrumental to claiming the final quarter 10-8 but it was too late for the visitors to make a turnaround as Kepler took home the win before their home supporters.

Kepler’s Victor Songa scored a game high 16 points while Chad Bowie Jordan and Chandelier Twizeyimana Cyiza added 12 and 10 points respectively. Bienvenue Liseko Bolangi was Kigali Titans’ stop-scorer with 14 points.

In another game played on Sunday, in the women's category, GS Gahini beat The Hoops 69-66 while Marie Reine BBC beat Kepler 41-29.
