Media should embrace digital technologies

RE: "To Rwandan media: Undermine impact of digital technologies at your own peril” (The New Times, November 14).

Attempts to return the technological genie back into its bottle will clearly be as successful as King Canute standing by the shores and ordering the tide not to dare to rise and lap at his royal robes.

All sectors, their firms and workers must learn to embrace technology and adapt to the extensive rapid changes in their operating environments and the requisite work organization that such disruptive change imposes.

Those unable to do this will be left by the wayside; those who do and manage to be early adapters stand to reap the benefits.
