Rwanda coffee is top-notch

In my opinion, Rwandan coffee is the best in the world by a long way. Years ago I worked out that, growing on volcanic soil, it was every bit as good as my then favourite Jamaican Blue Mountain (also grown on volcanic soil).

Editor,

RE: "Why Rwanda’s coffee ranks among the best globally” (The New Times, October 24).

In my opinion, Rwandan coffee is the best in the world by a long way. Years ago I worked out that, growing on volcanic soil, it was every bit as good as my then favourite Jamaican Blue Mountain (also grown on volcanic soil).

In the last few years it has become abundantly clear to me that Rwandan coffee has moved way beyond JBM’s quality. The key I think is to focus on the quality, single-origin, and market in order to maximise the premium price potential that exists in Rwandan coffee.

Good luck, Rwanda!
