It was more than just food at the Turkish food festival held at the Kigali Marriott Hotel last week.

The four-day festival ran from October 26 -29 at the Kigali Marriott Hotel’s Soko restaurant.

The festival featured Turkish food, entertainment, painting and more.

Ismail Keklikci and Samet Yildiz, two experienced chefs from Istanbul Marriot Sisli hotel, were flown in specifically to give festival goers a taste of authentic Turkish culinary delights. Guests, even those who were not familiar with the Turkish dishes, enjoyed the delicacies served at the food fest.

Musical performances by three famous Turkish musicians based in Ankara spiced up the event, as well as Turkish paintings and other art pieces which were on sale.

The festival was organised by the Kigali Marriot Hotel in partnership with Turkish Airlines and the Turkish Embassy in Rwanda.

The opening ceremony on Thursday night was graced by the Turkish ambassador to Rwanda, Mehmet Karaca, and the Director of Finance in the embassy of Turkey in Rwanda among others.
