Mother nature has numerous amazing things that exist just below the water or sea but are beyond our natural eyes’ ability to see them. But man being who he is has decided not only to conquer the space on land, but under the ground, in the water as well as the outer space. That is man for you!

Dominating all parts of the earth includes all water – seas, lakes that is why there is the presence of man underwater in all sorts of ways, mining for minerals, building in and on water and so many other ways!

There are underwater museums such as the Cancun Underwater Museum in Mexico, that you can either snorkel to visit and explore for about 45 minutes or take a glass bottomed boat that allows you to enjoy the artefacts (there are about four hundred and fifty -five) as you glide above them, what a phenomenal experience! What is intriguing about this artwork is the fact that it does not remain the same, it is always a work in progress. Why? Because the fish and other water animals are regular tourists too and when they visit, they can and usually they choose not to leave, making their homes in and on the statutes or models of various things such as cars, common household furniture like a stone table with a flower vase also made out of stone on it. When the diverse water life creatures build on the art work, the different colors they create paint the piece and it can truly be described as awesome! In that way, two aims are achieved, the sea life continues to flourish and you too can enjoy this splendid collaboration between man and nature!

Other captivating under water wonders include the various themed theaters – water life, entertainment or even both! An underwater theatre in Florida show cases girls, dressed as mermaids dancing and doing dance routines in a watery theater. You can get another underwater experience in Jakarta,

Elsewhere a gigantic aquarium – like theater has been constructed using modern architecture to include all sorts of sea and lake animals. Depending on their homes of origin, the water in their section is adjusted to suit them. So you can watch the actors (fish and other sea creatures) from all around the world, entertaining you! What a magnificent sight!

Who knows, an underwater museum or theater, inspired by this article, might just be the next tourist attraction in one of our lakes -  lake Kivu perhaps?
