Impressions: It’s not funny I must say…..

I was watching news sometime this week and there was something funny. This guy, what is his name? Oh yes Rod Bragojevich. Does this name sound bells in your mind?Certainly not. For starters this guy has been the Governor of Illinois (don’t tell me you also don’t know Illinois?)

I was watching news sometime this week and there was something funny. This guy, what is his name? Oh yes Rod Bragojevich. Does this name sound bells in your mind?Certainly not. For starters this guy has been the Governor of Illinois (don’t tell me you also don’t know Illinois?)

Well this is the state where Chicago is found, this place Obama (I know you know this one) represented in the US Senate. This Guy decided to take Obamamania to the extreme; I guess he heard that everything Obama sells just goes especially in Africa so he was not going to let the senate seat Obama occupied go to someone else without them parting with some bucks.

The FBI boys on the other hand, tapped the governor’s phone while he was trying to find the highest bidder and the deal flanked. Am told fellows were more than ready to pay exorbitant sums, just to occupy Obama’s former seat.

I can’t blame this guy, if it was me I would actually advertise the seat in the media, as per the powers entrusted to me as a Governor and of course the highest bidder would take it. If guys are willing to pay, then who am I to reject the lure such money can attract? Am actually so against corruption but man, Obama has been a blessing to business……

Still perplexed by this guys ‘shrewdness’ something else takes my attention and this isn’t funny….. This poor guy Craig Ewert, who for a longtime suffered from motor disease, chose to die through assisted suicide rather than endure the ‘torture’ the disease was giving him. He did so by traveling to Switzerland and checked into the controversial Dignitas Suicide clinic.

This former university professor went into the Zurich based clinic, with his wife Mary by his side and drank a mixture of sedatives and then turned off his own oxygen machine. He actually sanctioned his death, rather suicide to be filmed and this was broadcast on Sky TV later.

This sounds crazy but its very true. This clinic specializes in helping people to  commit suicide. Now I know why they say Switzerland is the ‘freest’ country in the world to live in. I mean where on earth can someone opt to die at any given day?

Established in 1998, Dignitas Clinic, legally allowed by Swiss laws, boasts of assisting over 600  people to deliberately chose to end their lives. Another guy called Daniel James, 23, killed himself on September12 of this year more than a year after a rugby accident left him paralyzed from the chest down.
What hurts more are the messages these guys leave behind, which are in most cases full of pain.

So should we establish such clinics on the African continent? Much as we cannot afford the drugs, we have alternative herbs that can do the work in the shortest time possible. Crazy idea….isn’t it?
