Rwanda volleyball senior national team captain Christophe Mukunzi has joined the Saudi Arabian side Al-Mouj Volleyball Club on a one-year contract subject to renewal.

The left-attacker will miss the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for October 20-30 in Cairo, Egypt.

"I have signed a one-year contract and now it’s upon me to work to make me that get a renewal at end of the first year. I will miss the African Championships but I want to wish my teammates good luck and all the best in the competition,” Mukunzi said on Saturday.

Last season, Mukuzi featured for Bulgarian first division side VC Marek Union-Ivkoni, which he joined after a two-year spell with Turkish topflight division side Payas Belediye Club.

The 26-year old started his career with Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) in 2007 before turning professional four years later when he joined Libyan side Tarsana Club.

He also played for Blida Club of Algeria, Qatari side Al Arabi Sports Club as well as Algerian side El Fanar Ain-Azel Club.
