Of RPA dissidents and their misplaced hate

Hatred, of course, is among the most powerful forces that easily blind those who fall under its spell. Such negative emotions as jealousy, greed and the desire to destroy those you believe have prevented you from realising your desires flow very easily from such hatred.

Editor,

RE: "Challenge detractors” (The New Times, October 11). There should be no surprise that former Rwandan Patriotic Army (RPA) officers who have chosen dissent and betrayal are behaving as they are out of hatred of a government and leadership that refused them the license to loot Rwanda like a conquered land – to help themselves to our country’s meager resources as conquerors always do.

Hatred, of course, is among the most powerful forces that easily blind those who fall under its spell. Such negative emotions as jealousy, greed and the desire to destroy those you believe have prevented you from realising your desires flow very easily from such hatred.

In this regard, comparing the venomous and deranged claims of those RPA dissidents to RTLM—among the ultimate in the media of pure hatred—is all too appropriate.
