Nakumatt, a Kenya-based shopping mall with a branch in Kigali, Thursday rewarded 72 vouchers to best winners. The ceremony held at Nakumatt shopping mall, in the premises of the Trade Union Centre, was presided over by the Minister of Commerce Trade and Industry, Monique Nsanzabaganwa.

Speaking during the launch, Nakumatt Holdings operations director, Thiagarajan Ramamurthy, said the supermarket had enhanced its prize offering to ensure maximum winning chances for all shoppers this festive season.

"With this Jumbo Rewards Programme this Christmas, we are proud to extend our gratitude to our loyal shoppers for their patronage,” said Ramamurthy.

He added that the rewards initiative will also act as a thank-you platform to its customers with a range of discounts facilitated by its suppliers which will come in the form of instant prizes to randomly selected customers.

According to Joseph Ndungu, the Nakumatt Country Manager, it was Nakumatt’s obligation to reward its esteemed customers every end of the year.

The prizes that were won by the 72 winners ranged from articles worth Rwf 10,000 while the top most winner was Seynabou Sy-Daff, a Senegalese working with the World Food Programme, in charge of ICT, who walked away with the massive Frw776, 100-worth refrigerator.

While some winners won vouchers worth money for which they could pick different articles from the supermarket, others won specific items which they collected on the award-giving day.

"Besides the rewards, a number of our key suppliers are working on modalities that will allow us to extend attractive price offers on various products to make this a memorable Christmas,” Ndungu added.

Minister Nsanzabaganwa called upon local investors to emulate Nakumatt by investing heavily in the country saying that this would lead to the country’s realisation of its development agenda.
