The vice president of Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) Vedaste Kayiranga admitted that Live Your Festival program will raise the level of women football in Rwanda.

Kayiranga made remarks after opening the event in Ruhango and Muhanga Districts on Thursday and Friday respectively, saying that to have many kids playing football will help them to have many players in future.

On Tuesday, Kayonza will host the third day of the event and the former Etincelles forward believes that they will continue to make follow up for the kids who will be the future of Rwandan women national team.

"This is good way of putting our kids in right position to become professionals and give all skills they need to become better players for Rwanda and for themselves. We have to help kids to love the game and only way of doing that is to give them a lot of time to play football and it will become like culture" he added

The festival cover a variety of sporting activities as well as the theoretical and practical training courses on football.

The purpose of the festival also looks to expand the skills of the school instructors and teachers to effectively develop students’ abilities.

The first day and second day of the event attracted about 400 female students between the ages of 6 and 12 from several schools in Ruhango and Muhanga.

Gicumbi will host the fourth day of the event on September 21 before concluding the event in Musanze on September 22.

FERWAFA provides kids, balls, corners and other materials which will help coaches to develop their working dairy.

The Live Your Goals concept was agreed on the sidelines of the 2011 World Cup in Germany. It is a global initiative that inspires girls to achieve their goals in football through perseverance, fair play and teamwork, all while making new friends.

Last year, the festival was held in Bugesera, Rubavu, Huye, Nyamagabe, Nyagatare and Rusizi.
