More than 60 vulnerable young women from Rusoro sector in Gasabo district have received start-up kits to boost their entrepreneurial skills.

The startup kits were donated by Ester Aid in partnership with Bible society. The kits included fabrics for designing different items, among other tools.

The support, according to the country Mission Director Clare Effiong is designed to enhance women’s contribution to the national economy and also to create job opportunities to the valuable unemployed.

Women are the bedrock and power house for entrepreneurship, therefore empowering them will help to shape the country’s economic development, she added.

According to Effiong, there is need to emphasise capacity building and training programmes to sharpen entrepreneurship skills among women across the country.

According to Senator Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo, government will continue to put in place a conducive business environment for women to exploit and become productive.
