Tekno to headline My250 concert

Nigerian songwriter and producer Augustine Miles Kelechi, better known by his stage name Tekno Miles, is expected to perform at the first edition of My250 Concert, slated for September 10, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village.

According to the organisers, the concert is a platform to promote the country’s music industry, by giving a chance to upcoming artistes to showcase their talent.

Patrick Lipscombe, one of the concert organisers, said the Nigerian music star is coming to Kigali not only to perform but also to inspire local artistes.

"Our music level is far behind compared to other countries, and we need to improve it at all costs. We need to support aspiring artistes to develop their talents,” he told The New Times.

The 24-old year has made strides in Nigeria having won the 2016 MTV MAMA awards Best New Act, and was nominated for Best International Act Africa at the 2017 BET Awards.

His hit songs include Pana, Yawa, Wash, Duro, Be and Samantha, which popular in Kigali.

The father of one will be performing alongside Ugandan songstress Lillian Mbabazi, Bruce Melodie, Neptunez band and the rising dance group Sick City Entertainment.

Local DJs, Dream Team DJs, DJ Infinity and DJ Shooter, will spice up the event. Early birds tickets go for Rwf10, 000 (regular), Rwf15, 000 for VIP, and Rwf320, 000 for a table of eight (8) people.
