Did TBB split?

Word reaching our desk is that the Afro beat trio of MC Tino, Bob and Benjah, commonly known as TBB have parted ways.

The latest buzz is that the members took different ways over a disagreement. But the trio claims that the separation was mutual as each wanted to pursue a solo career.

Other reports have it that the group made the decision to separate after realising they weren’t making enough from their music as a group.

MC Tino, the lead singer of the group, recently told local news websites that the group realised that throughout the six years they have been together, they have made minimal progress with their music journey.

Fans on social media advised them not to give up because of hardships related to finances, and that many groups have gone through the same thing but persevered. We, however, are not sure if the group will break up for good or if they are merely ‘on a break’ to see what a solo arrangement will bring them. We will keep you posted.

Diamond’s dad wants him to marry alleged baby mama

Diamond Platinumz’ father, Abdul Naseeb, wants his famous son to take on a second ‘wife’. This comes after rumours that the Salome video vixen and model, Hamisa Mobeto’s baby was sired by the superstar. The speculation has kept Diamond trending in Tanzanian showbiz circles.

Rumour has it that Diamond cheated on his partner, and mother of his two kids, Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan, with Mobeto during the shooting of Salome. The musician has since vehemently denied the allegations, stating that he has never laid hands on Mobeto.

He challenged the model to come clean and state who the real father of the baby is during a radio interview. Diamond went on to add that it has become normal for ladies to use his name for cheap publicity.

After giving birth, Mobeto kept referring to the baby as ‘Baby D’ on her Instagram posts, leading many to speculate that it meant ‘Baby Diamond’.

Mobeto, a model turned businesswoman, named the child Abdul Nasseb after Naseeb Abdul Juma alias Diamond Platinumz.

Diamond’s mother Sandra is said to have visited Mobeto in the hospital, a few hours after giving birth.

In a recent interview with a local TV Station in Tanzania, Diamond’s father, Abdul, said he was ecstatic with the news of having one of his grandchildren named after him. He urged his son to marry the lady officially because according to Muslim teachings, he is allowed to marry up to four wives.

Lupita sends heartfelt message to dad after swearing in

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o has penned a heartfelt message to her father after he was sworn in as the second Governor of Kisumu County.

Prof Anyang Nyong’o was among governors who took oath of office on Monday in their respective counties across the country.

However, his famous daughter was unable to attend his swearing in ceremony that was held at the Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu.

But in a Facebook post, Lupita acknowledged her father’s efforts in politics, recollecting on things her father taught her and wishing him the best as he embarks on his new journey.

‘You are smart: I took this to mean both that I was dressed well (We Kenyans say smart for well-dressed), but also that I was intelligent. It always made me feel special and valuable,” wrote Lupita.

"You can do anything: Daddy never EVER made me feel limited by my gender. He supported me when I did things that my society thought un-ladylike, like whistling, dressing like ‘KrissKross’, and even climbing trees in my adulthood. He was my first example of what feminism looks like on a man.”
