The Sudanese national football team arrived in Kigali on Friday night ahead of Monday’s international friendly match against Rwanda, which will be played Kigali Stadium.

Sudan and Rwanda will use the game as part of preparations for next week’s Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) third round qualifiers against Ethiopia and Uganda, respectively.

Sudan’s 34-man delegation jetted in the country aboard a Ethiopian Airways flight and they have been booked at Hill Top Hotel in Remera.

Rwanda eliminated Tanzania, while Uganda, knocked out South Sudan. The third round winners will qualify to represent the East and Central African Zone at next year’s finals tournament, alongside hosts Kenya.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Burundian referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana to officiate next week’s third round, first leg CHAN qualifier between Uganda and Rwanda, which will be held at St. Mary’s Kitende in Kampala.

Ndabihawenimana will be assisted by compatriots Gustave Baguma, Willy Habimana while Georges Gatogato will be the reserve referee. The match Commissioner is Kenyan Mohamed Omar Abubaker Yusuf.

The second leg, which will be played a week later at Kigali Stadium will be handled by Sudanese officials.

Center referee Hafiz Abdelghani Alamen will be assisted by compatriots Haitham Elnour Ahmed, Omer Hamid Mohamed Ahmed and Elsiddig Mohamed Eltreefe as the fourth official.
