The 32-year-old coach, who previously coached Sierra Leone, is said to be looking forward to the challenge of club management.

FK Kauno Zalgiris turned to the Northern Irish coach as they intend to improve its performance in the top division in Lithuania.

The Northern Irishman has worked as Sierra Leone head coach and then the Rwandan national team between March 2015 and August 2016, before being shown the exit in June last year.

McKinstry guided Rwanda in 25 games, including the first appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2016 and led them to the quarter-finals. Under his tenure, Rwanda also finished runners-up at the Cecafa tournament in 2015.
