Rayon Sports captain 'Bakame' signs new two-year contract

Rayon Sports captain Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the club until end of 2019, the secretary general, General Olivier Gakwaya has confirmed.

Rayon Sports captain Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the club until end of 2019, the secretary general, General Olivier Gakwaya has confirmed.

The reigning league champions have also signed two new players including; APR academy product Moise Niyigena and Pepinierre FC striker Gilbert Mugisha.

"We are gland to announce that we have extended the contract of Ndayishimiye and also signed two other players this week. We believe the new players will help us during the next season,” Gakwaya said.

The Rayon Sports Spokesman noted that, "We are building the team which can compete on high level than last season because we are champions and we need to improve every year.”

The club had earlier signed left back Eric Rutanga from APR FC for Rwf6m and midfielder Yussuf Habimana from Mukura Victory Sports for Rwf5.5m.

Other players, who have renewed their contracts are; attacking midfielder Kevin Muhire, right winger Nova Bayama and defensive midfielder Olivier ‘Seif’ Niyonzima.

The Azam Rwanda Premier League champions are in talks to extend the contract of central defender, Thierry Manzi, who is reported to be on the ladder of rivals Police FC, AS Kigali and Bugesera FC.

"I am in talks with many teams but my priority is to remain at Rayon Sports. Right now, I am concentrating on the national team,” Manzi said before leaving with Amavubi for the 2018 CHAN qualifier against Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Rayon Sports have confirmed that they will announce the replacement for Djuma Masudi as head coach before the end of the month.
