RE: "Christians pray for Rwanda’s elections” (The New Times, July 11). It is a well-known saying that more things are wrought by prayer than this world can think of.

Your story about how Christians have been praying for the forthcoming presidential elections makes interesting reading. The electorate in Rwanda is both knowledgeable and mature enough to make the right choice with regards to the individual who is best suited to lead the country going forward.

The giant strides made by Rwanda and the driving force behind this amazing progress after the devastation caused by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi are there for all to see.

Rwanda will continue to inspire not just people across Africa but also worldwide. In the people of Rwanda we’ve seen resilience, determination of purpose, genuine reconciliation, acts of kindness and forgiveness towards even perpetrators of genocide.

Through such things as the award winning books like "Left to Tell” and "My Son, It Is a Long Story”, coupled with films like "Birds Are Singing in Kigali”, Rwanda will continue to show the world that nothing is impossible and with the right leadership the sky is the limit.
