Local photographer, David Berg Murenzi, is set to host a photography exhibition at Impact Hub in Kigali from July 21 to 28.

Dubbed The State of Hope photography exhibition, it will feature sixty (60) photos and a film screening.

The 25-minute film, also called State of Hope, reflects on the stories of people interviewed in different parts of the country such as Kabuga, Nyamata, Butare, Gitega and Nyagatovu.

Together with American photographer Amanda Good, they will tell stories focusing on individuals and families in Rwanda through photos.

According to Murenzi, the exhibition was inspired by the stories and experiences of people from the areas they visited.

"The night will be a reflection of the stories of those we interviewed. The words we heard from these people have impacted us to see hope and beauty differently,” said Murenzi.

He added that because of the lifestyle of these people, full of confidence, happiness and hope, the photographs taken will take attendees into the lives of those they met.

The duo believes that through the exhibition, people can be able to relate to different experiences and hopefully change positively.

Murenzi is a young photographer with a passion for photography. Apart from photography, Murenzi is also a talented singer and songwriter.
