Police FC and Rwanda international Danny Usengimana has won the 2016/17 league Golden Boot-for the second season in a row.

Usengimana, who is primed to join Tanzanian league side Singida FC in a reported US$100,000 (about Rwf82.6 million) deal after the Peace Cup final on July 4, has been particularly lethal in front of goal since the turn of the year.

Last season, the 21-year-old and APR’s Muhadjiri Hakizimana (then with Mukura) were joint winners after the pair finished the season tied on 16 goals.

Usengimana, as well as other best ranked players in different categories, will be honoured in a ceremony scheduled for next month.

Musanze FC striker Wai Yeka, who also scored on the final day of the season in his side’s 1-0 win over Sunrise FC, finished second with 18 goals, while Police FC striker Mico Justin came in third with 15 goals following his brace in the final game.

Rayon Sports wrapped up this season’s league title with 73 points after posting 22 wins and 7 draws with only one loss in 30 matches.
