RE: "Distribution of UR campuses across the country is a good move” (The New Times, June 15). I can only commend both University of Rwanda (UR) and the Government for review and the reforms at the University. Restructuring at UR was indeed imperative for increased productivity and quality of education.

It is also regrettable that some people are too quick to judge.

I am sure the article did not give the entire policy content. A press briefing will be needed to elaborate on the development and for deeper public awareness. And, it would be better if this is done as soon as possible.

It is a pity that some people think that Rukara Campus is a no-life zone where people are dumped to die. This place has been hosting the College of Education for eight years now. It is a matter of expansion and upgrade to make it a fully-fledged campus.

Today, any place in Rwanda is worth living in. The new move will empower "remote” areas to get pull factors for investment.

Let it be understood that the issue of water supply needs to be looked at carefully. WASAC will have to invest in water supply. I am sure staff and students will enjoy the place, because food is available and affordable, especially bananas, beans, maize, meat and milk. This will also motivate investors in agriculture and livestock (in the area).

Let us give the "reformers” a benefit of doubt instead of judging before understanding the whole concept.
