Rayon Sports attacking midfielder Dominique Savio Nshuti is on the brink of completing a move to archrivals APR FC in a reported Rwf15.6 million move, Times Sport has reliably learnt.

The Rwanda international has been one of the hotshots in local football since joining Rayon Sports from second division side Isonga FC two years ago. He helped Rayon Sports to the Peace Cup last year and the league title this season.

The 19-year-old has attracted attention from regional clubs among them; Tanzania giants Young Africans and Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC, but according to an APR insider, a transfer to the army side has been verbally agreed between the club and the player.

"He (Nshuti) has already met APR officials and both parties agreed in principle on everything and he will sign a two-year contract as a free agent,” the source told Times Sport.

The source further disclosed that the contract details have already been worked out and it’s understood the fast-rising star will earn a monthly salary of Rwf500, 000, on top of other allowances, including accommodation and a car.

Tipped as the ‘next big thing’ in Rwandan football, Nshuti is two-footed and possesses exceptional passing and dribbling skills as well as the speed to cause trouble to any defence for both club and country. He is also the captain of the U20 national team.

Nshuti was handed his maiden international cap under Johnny McKinstry on April 25, 2015 against Somalia in the African U23 Championship qualifiers first round clash that was staged at Amahoro Stadium ending 2-1 in favour of Rwanda.

He is currently with the national team, which is preparing for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic due on Sunday in Bangui.

Meanwhile, the sources further revealed that Rayon Sports central defender, Thierry Manzi, is also high on APR’s transfer wish list and it is reported that the former league champions are preparing to offer him Rwf8m in sign-on fee and will pay him a salary of Rwf500, 000 a month.

The duo is part of 14 Rayon Sports first team players, who will be out of contract at the end of the season. Other notable names include goalkeeper and captain Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye, Fiston Munezero, Nova Bayama, Kevin Muhire, Fabricé Bugheni Kakule.

Others are; Jean d’Amour Ndacyayisenga, Abouba Sibomana, Olivier Sefu Niyonzima, Mustapha Nsengimana, François Mugisha, Abouba Bashunga and Evaliste Mutuyimana.

The two rival clubs have a history of poaching players from one another.
