RE: "Experts: Kenya SGR launch opens fronts for other phases” (The New Times, June 1).

This project is a game changer and has the potential to revolutionise transport in East Africa. Kenya has shown the way and set the pace for Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, DR Congo and South Sudan.

Kenya has already secured financing for the second phase, from Naivasha to Kisumu, so technically, the focus should be on Uganda. Will Uganda be able to connect with Kenya at Malaba and build all the way to Gatuna? Such kind of projects bring the true meaning of Northern Corridor Infrastructure integration. We hope the momentum started by Kenya shall be sustained all the way.
