Ghanaian dance hall and reggae musician Livingstone Etse Satekla, commonly known by stage name as Stonebwoy, is in Kigali where is set to perform at GUBA Awards ceremony taking place at Intare Conference Arena, today evening, September 29.
The singer, arrived in Kigali early this week and has been spending his stay on a media tour prior to his performance on Thursday where he was invited to entertain guests who will attend the awarding ceremony, which aims to celebrate, recognize and support exemplary businesses and individuals in Africa and the African Diaspora who continue to persist and show great courage within their various fields.
Amadou Gallo Fall’s commitment to the economic development of Africa via the creation of the BAL in May 2021 as a comprehensive basketball ecosystem in Africa is to be recognized under this year’s theme ‘Ndabaga – Drumbeat of Dreamers and Legends’ conveying the power of determination and focus.
Among prominent awardees include Basketball Africa League (BAL) President Amado Gallo Fall who is set to receive the ‘Sporting Excellence Award while World Health Organisation (WHO) boss, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, will be awarded ‘Exceptional Leadership in Global Health’ accolade.
Before his performance, Stonebwoy paid a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi and paid respects to the Tutsi victims laid to rest at the place.
Who is Stonebwoy?
Born in Accra, Ghana, Stonebwoy began making music in his early school days. He realised his talents and abilities as a lyricist and scriptwriter at an early age, remembering writing and acting drama pieces as far back as his fourth year in primary school. He is now the CEO of Burniton Music Group.

Stonebwoy is also an actor, having appeared in the movies Happy Death Day and My name is Ramadan. He is a global ambassador for sanitation. In September 2019, he was made the brand ambassador for Voltic Natural Mineral Water, in a deal that could be renewed after two years.
