Police, APR continue hunt for handball league title

The race for this season’s handball league title continues this weekend with front-runners APR and Police taking on Eastern Province based sides, St. Aloys Rwamagana and ADEGI Gituza, both seeking to boost their chances.

The race for this season’s handball league title continues this weekend with front-runners APR and Police taking on Eastern Province based sides, St. Aloys Rwamagana and ADEGI Gituza, both seeking to boost their chances.

Reigning champions Police, who are in second place, will visit sixth-placed Saint Aloys Rwamagana, while table leaders APR will lock horns with Gatsibo-based ADEGI Gituza.

League debutants ADEGI are currently in the fifth place with 13 points, the same tally as St. Aloys Rwamagana.

On Sunday, it will be vice-versa with Police taking on ADEGI in Gatsibo and APR will be in Rwamagana to face St. Aloys.

APR lead the league table with 34 points, one point ahead of Police, who have however played one game less.

After this weekend, the league will take a break due to the Genocide memorial tournament scheduled for next weekend. It will attract teams from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Zimbabwe and hosts Rwanda.
