Over 17 designers will grace the grand finale of the sixth edition of Kigali Fashion Week at Serena Hotel today. Over half of these are international designers from Nigeria, United States of America, Canada, Uganda, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, United Kingdom, Tanzania and Japan, among others.

Yesterday, a press conference was held in the morning and a prelaunch at Cabana Club in the evening, which was a meet and greet affair for the designers, models, the KFW team and partners.

Last Friday, a workshop was held by the designers to talk about fashion and inspire each other as far as fashion is concerned. It was open to fashion lovers and journalists.

A mini-fashion show was held at the Belgian Embassy where some designers showcased their designs amid performances done by the Mashirika Group.

Today, the grand finale of the fashion week at Kigali Serena Hotel will kick off at 7:30pm.

According to Daniel Ndayishimiye, the manager of KFW, this year’s edition will help the designers do online selling of their products.

"This will be through a partnership between KFW and Ronkos Rwanda, an online market place that brings together Rwanda’s fashion designers on one platform allowing the clients to discover, browse and buy ‘Made in Rwanda’ without having to leave their homes,” he said.
