Under Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA)’s schools development program, the Association has donated a fully stocked cricket kit  to Kagarama Secondary school.

The equipment was practically handed over to the school’s headmaster Joseph Rwagatare by Charles Haba, the RCA president.Though the sport was introduced to the school early this year, it had failed to pick up due to insufficient equipment.

But after handing over the kit and promising to avail the school with a cricket trainer, Haba assured the schools’ cricketers that they were going to improve in all aspects of the game.

In return, Rwagatare hailed RCA’s efforts to promote the sport and sports in general.
"Any additional sport in our school is good for us. We (School) are indeed happy with your effort to promote the sport and this should be a stepping stone to the development of cricket in Rwanda,” he said.

With the national ladies’ cricket team tour to Uganda round the corner; it was timely for Kagarama to be availed with a cricket trainer and cricket equipment.

"Kagarama is expected to produce a couple of players who will be part of the national team that will tour Uganda in October and we saw it fit to keep these players focused on the sport,” Charles said.
