Rwandan youngster Nelson Murangwa is in South Korea for a two-week trial period with Korean first division clubs. He is one of the about 172 players (above 1.92m) from around the world invited by Korean volleyball teams for ‘try-outs’ scheduled for May 13-15.

"We are many players from different countries and I will be waiting for what will happen after the trials,” Murangwa told this paper, adding that, after the trials, the top teams in the Korean top league will select players they want to use next season.

The selected players include Brazilians, Europeans and Africans.

In the last three years, he has had professional trials in Japan and Europe, but without success in terms of nailing a permanent contract. However, he believes that, this time round, he will land one of the eight contracts that Korean clubs are offering.

In 2012, Murangwa was playing for Group Scolaire de Butare before joining Rayon Sports. He won the league with Rayon Sports in 2014. In 2013, he helped Rwanda to a third place in African Youth Championships and participated in the U21 World Championships.
