Tigo Rwanda has signed a two-year deal with Kigali Convention Centre and Radisson Blu Hotel Kigali in which the telecom firm will provide various ICT solutions to the conference venue, the largest in the country.

It will provide bulk (fixed and on demand) internet bandwidth services to the facility via the stable and reliable KT Rwanda Network fully backed up by multiple local fiber rings and international upstream routes, according Tigo Rwanda chief business officer Amit Chawla.

"In addition, Tigo will provide mobile voice, data and 4G communication services for the 162 Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) employees and develop an online food menu that will allow Radisson Blu customers to directly place orders for themselves using tablet computers right from their tables, as well as deploy intelligent screens for digital advertisement and entertainment,” he added in a statement.

Lauding the deal, the general manager of KCC and Radisson Blue Hotel, Denis J. Dernault said the partnership will give Kigali Convention Centre and Radisson Blu Hotel a unique opportunity to make sure that customers have a world-class hospitality experience.

"The solutions offered by Tigo came at the right time as we prepared to host one of the largest ICT event in African continent - Transform Africa Summit – where the smart cities blueprint was launched,” Dernault.

Chawla added that by providing connectivity to Convention Centre, Tigo is ensuring that participants attending conferences and meetings at the facility enjoy the best Internet services in the country. "Additionally, the online menu project at the Radisson Blu Hotel is an example of the strength of our content proposition and our commitment to innovation,” he said.
