Editor, RE: "Super powers to blame for endless wars” (The New Times, May 4).

They do know that the world did not forget Iraq or Libya. They also know that no one will do anything about it. The only two powerful nations—Russia and China—capable enough to have an impact, one has vested interests in the conflict itself and the other has made it clear to the West that if Western powers stay out of her politricks then China will also stay out of theirs. The rest of us are simply too meaningless to matter.

Besides, Africa had better take care of her own internal conflicts and leave the rest of the world dismantle itself. Therein lies our salvation. We'll be picking up the pieces and cleaning up their messes as we have done in the past.

The mother of civilization is rising up again. Let's focus on that. We, in Rwanda, have firsthand experience in this. International indifference has taught us plenty. Ali Rukariza
