Gisagara VC have extended their lead at the top of the men’s national volleyball league table after beating IPRC-South and Kigali Volleyball Club on Saturday at Gisagara Indoor Gymnasium.

Gisagara beat KVC 3-1 (25-11, 25-17, 21-25 and 25-17) and IPRC-South 3-0 (25-20, 25-15 and 25-15 while IPRC-South beat KVC 3-0 (25-19, 27-25 and 25-20) in the other match.

League debutants Gisagara lead the table with 34 points, six ahead of second-placed Kirehe, while IPRC-South are third with 27 points and APR sit in fourth place with 25 points.

Defending champions University of Kibungo (UNIK) failed to make it into the top four after finishing in sixth place with 16 points. The top four clubs will play playoffs to determine the league champions.

Meanwhile, in the women’s league, after ten games, defending champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) lead the table with 27 points, three points ahead of APR while St Aloys Rwamagana sit in third position with 19 points and Ruhango High School are fourth with 14 points.

In the playoffs, Gisagara will play against APR while Kirehe face IPRC-South in the best of three series. In the women category, RRA will meet Ruhango while APR will play against St Aloys.
