With just three games left in the second division league regular season, the race for the two promotion slots to the topflight division is heating up with more than 12 teams still in contention for the playoffs.

The second division is played in two group and the top two teams in each group progress to the quarter-final playoff and the two finalists get promoted. As it stands, six teams in both Group A and B can still make it into the last eight.

In Group A, former topflight side and leaders AS Muhanga will take on fourth-place Sorwathe FC at Stade de Muhanga, while second-placed Rwamagana City FC, relegated last season, will host University of Rwanda (UR) FC, who are second from bottom, at Rwamagana Police ground.
