Are pastors ripping off their followers?

Pastors are stealing and cheating people of their hard earned money. Nowhere did Jesus ask people to bring money to him in order to perform miracles.

Editor,

RE: "Miracles do happen but beware of fake pastors” (The New Times, April 22).

Pastors are stealing and cheating people of their hard earned money. Nowhere did Jesus ask people to bring money to him in order to perform miracles. This is pure theft! Why do they call it sowing and not reaping? Sowing is the reverse of what pastors are doing. They are ripping people off and they get richer while their flock continues to get poorer. It doesn’t make sense at all.

Generalization doesn’t do any good. There are certainly some churches that are really genuine. However, I think we, the Christians, also have a stake in this since some of us do not pause to ask ourselves whether it is God who performs miracles or the pastors. As such, you find some of the Christians saying they are going pastor so and so because he performs miracles. That’s where trouble is.
