Police FC head coach Innocent Seninga is looking to make the 2017 Peace Cup his first competitive title with the law-enforcers ahead of their last 32 encounter with United Stars this afternoon.

The 2015 Peace Cup winners will take on the second tier side at their ground in Kabagari, Kacyiru seeking to seal a place in the last 16.

The former SC Kiyovu and Isonga coach joined Police at the start of this season and has enjoyed a relatively good start with them currently sitting in the third place on the league with 46 points, just one point adrift of second-placed APR.

Police’s  goal-scoring machine Danny Usengimana is leading the top scorers chart with 15 goals.  

The 38-aged tactician, who has never won the Peace Cup, noted: "We want to go all the way to the final. It’s almost impossible now to catch Rayon Sports for the league title, so we are focused on finishing in second place in the league and winning the Peace Cup, and I believe we can achieve that,” Seninga said

Rayon Sports won last year’s Peace Cup edition defeating archrivals APR FC 1-0 in the title match, which gave them the ticket to this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Holders Rayon Sports will face second division side Rugende today at Stade de Kigali.

The competition will be played over two legs until the semi-final stage where eventual winners will face off in the final to determine the winner, who will go on to represent Rwanda in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
