Vikings Cricket Club batsman John Bosco Tuyizere (pictured) is confident his team will come good in the forthcoming Computer Point T20 tournament.

The newly formed Vikings had a dismal run in their debut competition, managing to win just one game against RCA-Devt Team and lost to Challengers, Kigali Cricket Club and Indorwa CC in the concluded V.R NAIDU T20 tourney, which Indorwa went on to win after beating Telugu Royals in the final.

However, Rwanda international Tuyizere is confident the team has the capacity to bounce back and compete for trophies.

"It was a difficult first tournament for us because we’re a new club, though we have good experienced players but they had not played together before. To be successful, it requires playing together for some time to understand each other well and then transfer that to the oval,” said Tuyizere.

He added that, "We have everything it requires to be a successful team including a well-organized management that understands and loves the game and they are committed to seeing the club grow into a dominant team in Rwandan cricket.”

The 20-year-old former Right Guard and RCA Development Team player joined Vikings early this year and says he is ready to help his new team gain a competitive advantage over their rivals.

The youngster did it with RCA Dev’t Team, which was formed in May last year but the youthful side managed to reach the final of the Computer Point T20 and the semi-final of UAE Exchange and 50-overs Premier League.

He noted, "I can still do it with Vikings, which is a well-organized club and they are assembling the best possible squad that will be able to challenge for trophies straight away.”
