RE: "Does getting circumcised prevent one from hernia?” (The New Times, March 6).

Claiming that circumcision prevents a health problem (such as hernia) is a compulsion of circumcised men to have done to others what was done to them.

istorically, this compulsion has led to over 200 potential health claims about circumcision. All have been refuted.
