APR FC were Friday held 1-1 by visitors Musanze at Kigali Regional Stadium.

The Azam Rwanda Premier League tie had previously been postponed. Striker Wai Yeka scored for Musanze in the 40th minute from the spot after Emmanuel Imanishimwe handled in the forbidden area.

Patrick Sibomana netted the equaliser for the military side in the 51st minute.

The result means Jimmy Mulisa's defending champions have dropped five points against lowly sides in three days after losing 1-0 to Gicumbi on Wednesday.

"I am disappointed because we needed three points after the defeat against Gicumbi,” Mulisa told Times Sport after today’s match. "We dominated the second half and if we had made the most of the chances we created we would have won the game. We need to be more focused in the next games.”

However, his Musanze counterpart, Sosthene Habimana, also rued the missed opportunities, insisting the visitors had a chance to grab all the three points. He blamed lack of concentration on the part of his players in the later stages of the game.

"We were the better side and deserved more than one point but that's part of football. We now have to prepare for the next game," Habimana said.

The result means APR remain in second place with 39 points one behind Rayon Sports who will play against Marines on Sunday while they also still have one game in hand – against AS Kigali.
