RE: "Migeprof to address Rubavu child-neglect challenges” (The New Times, February 9).

Consequences of child neglect may include but not limited to low self-esteem, depression and drug abuse in a later age. The Police and local leaders are already doing a great job in fighting drug abuse and child abuse. I am convinced that early childhood centres will be a tangible solution to avoid situations where mothers in a hopeless search for money will have to leave their kids to an unsecured destiny.
