Local R&B Singer Edouce Softman is making a comeback with an extended play ‘ Genesis’ that he has been busy working on. The five-song EP is expected to be released before January comes to an end.

The singer known among the best live perfomers in Rwanda explained that the reason for his inactiveness in the music industry was because he had been carefully working on each song of the EP.

Edouce, real name Thaddy Erabizi, has been in the music scene for a decade and released some of the best songs that fans enjoyed by the time.

Dubbed ‘ Genesis’ EP, Edouce told The New Times that he named his EP ‘Genesis’ because it a new beginning for the singer who is determined to make more hits marking a new journey in his music career.

"Just like the title of my EP, I want to tell all my fans and all music lovers that it feels like I am about to start my music career and it will be one of the best. They loved what I did in the past years which is why I have much to share but it will be different from what they had seen basing on the music I want to do now,” he said.

Edouce further explained that the extended play is not just about love music but also about life in general. The five tracks on the EP are ‘ Intro’, ‘Umuigishe’, ‘Balance’, ‘Kind of Love’, ‘ Single Mama’ and ‘ Ubu’.

‘Unyigishe’, one of the songs on the EP is a gospel song he was inspired to compose after listening to the teachings of Pastor Antoine Rutayisire during the funeral of the late singer Yvan Buravan.

He had been wishing to work on a gospel song and on that day, he was touched by the wise words from the pastor.

Edouce says ‘Unyigishe’ holds a special place in his heart as he made it with so much love, motivating people to follow God.

The artiste rose to fame in 2010 after releasing hits such as ‘Urushinjye’, ‘Oxygen’ and ‘Akandi ku Mutima’.
