Iriho shines as White Clouds beat Oasis in T20 tournament

White Clouds cricket club Captain Veronic Iriho inspired her team to a five wickets victory against newly established Oasis CC in the ongoing V.R NAIDU Women T20 tournament on Saturday at Kicukiro cricket ground.

Oasis won the toss and batted first making 88 runs all out in 19.2 overs. Ugandan Kevin Owino, making her debut for Oasis, scored 40 runs in 32 balls while Rachael Ntono contributed 18 runs in 21 balls.

In return, White Clouds managed to chase the target in 16.1 overs for the loss of six wickets.

The 26-year-old Rwanda international, Iriho led her team with 34 runs from 24 balls. She was supported by Olive Uwimana, who made 11 runs and took 5 wickets.

Iriho and Uwimana had a formidable partnership that produced a remarkable 53 runs which was vital for their team’s victory.

"I congratulate my teammates for putting on great performance today, we have started well and we hope to go all the way to the title,” Iriho said after the game.
