Sunrise FC head coach Jackson Mayanja has expressed delight with his team's 2-1 win over Police FC at Nyagatare Stadium on Sunday, January 14 in a Primus National League week 16 game.

The home side came from behind to win the crunch encounter with goals from Brian Ssali and Patrick Murenzi. Police had taken the lead earlier in the 47th minute through a Muhadjiri Hakizimana penalty.

Mayanja hailed the victory and pointed out that his charges exhibited great mental determination to come back against a great team.

"We all agree that Police FC is a good team. For us to make a super come back against them after going down shows we never give up,” the Ugandan tactician told Times Sport in an interview

"We played against a quality and experienced side. So, for us to get the needed win means a lot,” he added.

With the victory, Sunrise FC moved to 9th position on the league table with 20 points from 16 games whereas Police FC remain second with 31 points.
