Six Gicumbi FC players go AWOL, says club official

Four senior players of league side Gicumbi Football Club have gone missing from the team camp, according to assistant coach, Methode Kamali.

Four senior players of league side Gicumbi Football Club have gone missing from the team camp, according to assistant coach, Methode Kamali.

The ‘missing’ players include; goalkeeper Alain Mizero, central defender Emmanuel Marouda, midfielder Hamad Hakorimana, strikers Surrender Nyabenda and Nonda Comba Msikira as well as left winger Patrick Mugisha.

Speaking to Sunday Sport, Kamali revealed that the six player have not been seen since last month and the club have no clue about their whereabouts.

"There is no official information about their whereabouts but what we know as club, is that they he is away without permission,” said Kamali.

Struggling Gicumbi are second from bottom with eight points having twice, drawn two and lost 11 from 15 matches. They’re three points above bottom side Pepiniere FC.
