Rayon Sports are gearing up for a major change as they consider parting ways with coach Mohamed Wade following last Friday’s 2-1 defeat to Gasogi United in the league at Kigali Pele stadium.

Times Sport has learned that the club will make the final decision on Monday, January 15.

"It's true, the idea of sacking Wade is being considered," revealed a source with knowledge about the development.

It is understood that the Blues have already begun the process of scouting a replacement for Wade. The new coach would be in charge until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Reports suggest that some key players in the Rayon squad have lost confidence in Wade, and have requested for a new coach to be brought in.

Wade was initially hired as an assistant coach by Tunisian coach Yameni Zelfani at the beginning of the season. The latter was dismissed last October after a series of poor results.

Since taking over as head coach, Wade led Rayon to six wins and three draws in in 12 matches. The club also registered three losses under his reign.

Rayon sit fourth on the league table with 27 points, six behind champions APR who have also played a game less.
