In July 2023, renowned stand-up comedian and actor Kevin Hart at Haute Baso in Kigali.

Appearing on The Tonight Show hosted Jimmy Fallon, American comedian and actor Kevin Hart shared how he dared an experience that he wouldn’t normally do but had an open mind to doing during his visit at the Volcanoes National Park in 2023.

During his talk with Jimmy Fallon, Kevin mentioned that it was his first time in Africa and that he had a good time with his family trekking the gorillas.

"I took a big trip to Rwanda and Rwanda was a good time. Ellen is the reason why I ended up going to Rwanda. She told me to go and have this experience with the gorillas,” he said.

Jimmy then showed the comedian and his audience a photo of when the comedian was invited at the show and ran away when an animal expert brought a tarantula. They both laughed at how the comedian is terrified of animals and how he thought there would be a glass between him and the gorillas in Rwanda.

"I don’t deal with animals at all but my family wanted to do it, so who am I to deny them an opportunity based on my reasons. I was scared when I got there because I thought there would be a glass.

"They were like actual gorillas two feet away and I didn’t take it well. I remember the rules when they said to not look at them in the eye and submit. With that being said the first gorilla that came was a female and I just hit the ground. I submitted and my wife was trying to tape the gorilla while the flash was on and I hit her because she was going to get us attacked,” Kevin joked.

He added that however terrific the experience was, he learned so much about gorillas.
