Rwamagana City FC are aiming to finish the first round of the 2016/17 second division league unbeaten when they host lowly Nyagatare FC at Rwamagana Police ground.

The former topflight side are in Pool A and are seeking to make an immediate comeback.

After nine rounds of matches played so far, Rwamagana City are tied on 21 points with second-placed Vision FC, the two only unbeaten sides in this group, having each won six and drawn three matches.

The Eastern Province-based side tops the group thanks to a better goal difference of 16 compared to Vision’s 12 goals, and will be hoping for a win against 8th-placed Nyagatare (seven points), who have won one, drawn four and lost five of their ten matches.

On the other hand, Vision FC, who are aiming for their first ever promotion to the topflight division, will be looking to keep pressure on Rwamagana City when they play bottom side Akagera FC at Mumena stadium.

Meanwhile in Group B, it will be a battle of the top two as Miroplast FC and Isonga FC lock horns at Mironko ground.

Miroplast lead the group with 21 points, one point ahead of second-placed Isonga while Heroes FC in third with 18 points set to play La Jeunesse, who in fifth spot with 15 points. Sec Academy occupies bottom spot in this group with only one point from nine games.
