Left back Abouba Sibomana has said he is ready for the new challenge after signing a six- month deal with national football league table leaders, Rayon Sports.

The Rwanda international rejoined Rayon Sports from Kenya Premier League outfit Gor Mahia until the end of the season. Sibomana, who struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at Gor Mahia, will face competition from Eric Irambona, who has been a mainstay for the unbeaten Rayon.

Sibomana joined Gor Mahia in January 2015 and had a fantastic debut campaign, helping the team win the KPL title and Top 8 Cup as well as to a second place finish in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

"I have signed a six months contract and I am looking forward to playing regular football once again as I continue to look for a new club outside Rwanda. I need to play regularly and regain match fitness,” Sibomana told Saturday Sport.

Regarding the competition for a starting place, he noted that, "Irambona is a very good player and I am happy that he is performing well. Such competition is very good because it will help both of us to work hard.”

He further noted that, "As a player you have to ask yourself what you are not doing right when you are relegated to the bench.”

Sibomana will not feature in today’s big match against archrivals APR FC, but said, "I won’t play but will be there to support my team, and hopefully we will be able to get a good result and stay at the top of the league table.”
