Espoir lost to APR last weekend and United Generation Basketball Club (UGB) will be hoping to hand them another beating when the two sides meet in a Friday night national league game at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

UGB currently are in the eighth place after four games, level on five points with second from bottom 30-Plus while Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) are in 10th place having played a game less.

Although UGB have managed just one win in four games against CSK (89-58) and lost to APR 45-91, IPRC-Kigali 66-94 and Patriots 95-34, head Coach Yves Murenzi says his team can make it two straight defeats for the former champions.

Espoir lost their second game of the season against archrivals APR 70-71.

"This is a crucial game to turn around our season, we are well aware of Espoir’s quality and ability plus their disappointment of losing their previous game, however we don’t want to give them a chance to bounce back,” said Murenzi.

Even with that loss, Espoir (4:2) still remain on top of the league table with 10 points followed by Patriots, REG and IPRC-Kigali in the second, third and fourth places respectively, all tied on nine points and have played a game less.

On Saturday, Rusizi will host APR at Groupe Scholaire Gihundwe in Rusizi while the bottom two sides CSK and 30-Plus will be up against each other at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

Regular season league defending champions Patriots, who lost for the first time this season last weekend against IPRC-Kigali, will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Rusizi on Sunday.

Meanwhile, there will be just one game in the women league on Sunday when reigning Play-offs champions Ubumwe face The Hoops, at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
