RE: "The American public against trump” (The New Times, January 3).

Hillary Clinton lost because too many American voters spread across many Electoral College districts—including those in states Barack Obama, the first non-white person to be elected President of the United States (POTUS), carried in 2008 and then 2012)—just couldn't be convinced to overcome their passionate anti-Hillary antipathy to vote for her, even in the face of a nightmare alternative like Donald Trump.

American "liberals” should stop insulting our intelligence with their whining about the Big Bad Bear Vlad Putin "stealing their democracy” and Hillary's entitlement to be anointed POTUS!

American voters—through a process no one had hitherto questioned—have decided; no one forced them to do so, except those—including the Democratic Party establishment who presented them with a choice that, in November 2016, couldn't be worse than the two major party candidates for POTUS.
