World Football governing body (FIFA) has asked Etincelles FC to pay Ghanaian midfielder Prince Jerome Iniesta an amount of $7020 ( Rwf8,850,000) over breach of contract.

Iniesta, 22, joined Etincelles in January 2023 on a two-year deal after passing the club's trials.

Times Sport has established that the player has not received his signing on fee and other entitlements despite having a running contract with the club.

Etincelles head coach Radjab Bizumuremyi removed Iniesta from his squad for the 2023/24 season after he told the player that he was not in his plans.

Through his lawyer, however, the Ghanaian dragged the Rubavu-based team to FIFA for breach of contract.

Times Sport can confirm that the case was ruled on Monday, January 8, and the club has been asked to pay Iniesta Rwf8.85 million and failure to pay him could lead the club to points deduction or potential demotion to the lower league.
